Thousands marched along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City, Philippines, on July 27 for the People’s SONA, held alongside President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s State of the Nation Address.
Activist groups estimated that 15,000 people joined the protest, demanding lower food prices and public service costs, higher wages, and government action on the worsening conditions faced by ordinary Filipinos after four years under the Marcos administration.
