Families and relatives of victims of the Philippines’ ‘war on drugs’ receive the urn of ashes of their departed kin on Nov. 15, 2021

Families and relatives of victims of the Philippines’ ‘war on drugs’ receive the urn of ashes of their departed kin during a simple memorial service at the Espiritu Santo Shrine in Manila on Monday, Nov. 15, 2021.

The latest batch of urns containing the ashes of the cremated victims were turned over to the families by Divine Word Missionary priest Flaviano Villanueva and witnessed by human rights lawyer Chel Diokno through the continuing efforts of the Paghilom Project, which supports the families of victims of the ‘drug war.’ (Photos by LiCAS.news photojournalist Jire Carreon)
