Twenty-one male Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) married their partners during the annual “Kasalan sa Piitan: Love Inside the Prison Walls” ceremony at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology grounds in Mandaluyong City on Nov. 3, 2026.

Mandaluyong Mayor Menchie Abalos officiated the mass wedding, which was attended by Vice Mayor Anthony Suva, other city officials and BJMP officers.

The annual event allows couples to formalize their unions while one partner remains in detention.
