Youth activists mark the 36th anniversary of the 1986 ‘People Power’ uprising on Sunday, February 20, 2022.
Wearing black shirts, the demonstrators mounted a six-foot funeral wreath at the foot of the ‘People Power’ monument to call attention to what they described as threats to the country’s democracy in the coming May elections.
The ‘People Power Revolution,’ also known as the ‘EDSA Revolution’ or the ‘February Revolution,’ was a series of popular demonstrations in the Philippines, mostly in Metro Manila, from February 22 to 25, 1986.
