Living Laudato Si’ Philippines, a local initiative that aims to promote the message of Pope Francis’ encyclical on the environment, announced that it is launching a 40-day prayer campaign on Monday, October 4, Feast of St. Francis.
The activity, which is co-sponsored by the Vatican Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, aims to support the seven sectors joining the Laudato si’ Action Platform with a dedicated day of prayer for each.
At the end of the prayer campaign on November 14, a new phase in the Laudato si’ Action Platform will be launched to encourage everyone “to make a firm commitment to creating their own Laudato si’ plans.”
Living Laudato si’ Philippines said the Dicastery “sees a need to continue building on the dynamic conversations taking place” with the Philippine organization and its close to 200 partners.
Living Laudato si’ Philippines has been an “integral co-leader” of efforts to build the Laudato si’ Action Platform, serving as a member of the global steering board of the movement.
