Bulacan parish serves meals to those in the line of duty

A Catholic parish and its volunteers in Bulacan province are doing their bit to help frontliners who are working tirelessly to contain the Covid-19 by preparing food for them.

After Luzon was put on lockdown, the Parish of Nuetra Señora del Santisimo Rosario in Hagonoy town has stepped in to feed barangay security workers.

CBCP News reported that since March 17, the parish through its “Handog Malasakit” program has been sending free meals to barangay workers manning the town’s different checkpoints.

“Most of our baranggay workers are the front liners in our community and they need all the help they can get from us,” said parish administrator Lou Salvador Jess de Silva.

De Silva said this was their way of giving thanks to the frontliners, while also observing precautionary measures to reduce the spread of the virus.
