Claretian-led Word Conference 2025 to explore theological hope

A major Church-led gathering on Scripture and Christian hope is set to take place on November 29, 2025, at the Fr. Rhoel Gallardo Hall of Claret School in Quezon City.

The event, titled WORD CONFERENCE 2025, carries the theme “A Pilgrimage of Hope: Walking in God’s Word… I Have Put My Hope in Your Word” (Psalm 119:81).

Organized by the Prefecture of Biblical Animation and Communications of the Claretian Missionaries – Fr. Rhoel Gallardo Province, in partnership with Claretian Communications Foundation, Inc., and Claret School of Quezon City, the one-day hybrid conference is open to all who “seek to listen, learn, and live the Word.”

In a letter to LiCAS News, Claretian Communications Executive Director Fr. Louie Louie Hechanova, CMF, said the upcoming event is inspired by the Jubilee Year 2025, which is centered on the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.”

Quoting Pope Francis, the letter read: “We must fan the flame of hope that has been given us and help everyone to gain new strength and certainty by looking to the future with an open spirit, a trusting heart, and a far-sighted vision.”

The conference aims to deepen participants’ understanding of hope as a theological virtue and its foundation in the Word of God.

According to the conference abstract, “Hope inspires us to move forward and always find meaning in our lives. This is important for us Christians who put our hope in God.”

Biblical figures such as Abraham and Jeremiah will be highlighted for their steadfast hope and obedience to God’s word. “

Abraham believed and hoped against all expectation, thus becoming the father of many nations,” while the prophet Jeremiah “never abandoned his calling to remind [Israel] of God’s faithfulness,” the abstract noted.
