Pintô Art Museum and Arboretum has opened Homage to Gaia, its largest year-end exhibition to date, featuring works by more than 300 artists and spanning multiple gallery spaces across the museum complex.
The exhibition, which opened on Nov. 23, occupies all four Upper Galleries as well as Ilustrado I and II at Gallery 7, bringing together emerging, mid-career, and master artists working in a wide range of materials, styles, and techniques.
Despite the breadth of artistic approaches, the works are unified by the theme of Gaia, the Greek personification of Earth, presented as the primordial mother of all life and a symbol of nature’s power, beauty, and vulnerability.
Curated by Ferdie Montemayor, Homage to Gaia is positioned as a response to worsening environmental crises linked to human consumption.
Exhibition materials cite the destruction caused by recent super storms Tino and Uwan, as well as the fatal flash floods that followed, as stark reminders of this reality.
The exhibit also reflects Pintô Art Museum’s long-standing emphasis on environmental stewardship, aligning with its institutional ethos that places art, architecture, and nature in deliberate harmony within a landscaped and sustainably guided setting.
Homage to Gaia runs until Dec. 28, 2025. The museum has invited the public to view the exhibition as a collective expression of art’s capacity to awaken awareness and honor the living world shared by all.
