Cardinal Jose Advincula of Manila presides over the Chrism Mass on Maundy Thursday, April 18, 2025, at the Manila Cathedral, where holy oils used in sacraments throughout the year are blessed and priests renew their vows. 

The Chrism Mass is one of the most solemn liturgies of Holy Week and symbolizes the unity of the bishop with his clergy. 

It also marks the Church’s preparation for the celebration of Easter through the sacraments of baptism, confirmation, anointing of the sick, and ordination.
