Vatican launches international photography contest for youth to mark Jubilee of Sport 2025

The Dicastery for Culture and Education at the Vatican has announced an international photography contest titled “Sport in Motion,” inviting young photographers under the age of 25 to capture the essence of sport in its many dimensions.

The contest is part of the 2025 Jubilee of Sport, a year dedicated to celebrating the universal values of sport.

The competition, open to both professional and amateur photographers, encourages entries across five categories: Sport and HopeSport and FamilySport and DisabilitySport and Politics, and Sport and Ecology

Each category reflects a distinct perspective on how sport intersects with themes such as societal hope, family bonding, inclusivity for persons with disabilities, accessibility, and the relationship between sport and nature.

Participants have until April 30, 2025, to submit their entries by email to [email protected].

Full details, including entry forms, contest rules, and jury information, are available on the Dicastery’s website at [www.dce.va](https://www.dce.va/it/news/2024/concorso-di-fotografia.html).

The winners will be announced during the Jubilee of Sport on June 14-15, 2025. Prizes include a rare opportunity to meet Pope Francis, a tour of the Vatican Museums, a workshop with Osservatore Romano, the Vatican’s newspaper, and international recognition of their work through Vatican media channels.
