Thai embassy in Tel Aviv honors lives lost in conflict

The Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv commemorated the 41 Thai nationals who lost their lives since the outbreak of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on October 7 of last year.

Ambassador Pannabha Chandraramya and the embassy staff lit candles to honor those who perished and called for the immediate and safe release of the six Thai hostages still held in Gaza.

The Embassy also renewed its call for the return of the bodies of two other Thai hostages, stressing the need for closure for their families.

On Sept. 16, the Royal Thai Embassy held a tree-planting event at Ben Shemen Forest to honor the 41 Thai nationals who lost their lives.

Each tree serves as a tribute to their memory and a reminder of the violence’s impact.

The Royal Thai Embassy said it will continue to support affected families and pledged to work with Thai nationals in Israel to ensure their safety and well-being amid the worsening situation.

At least 1,139 people were killed in Hamas-led attacks on Oct. 7, 2023, in Israel with more than 200 people taken captive.
