Catholic bishops send condolences to papal nuncio over his mother’s death

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) conveyed its condolences to papal nuncio Archbishop Charles Brown over the death of his mother.

In a message to the nuncio, CBCP Secretary General Msgr. Bernardo Pantin conveyed, “Our hearts ache with you during this time of profound loss”.

“On behalf of the bishops of the Philippines we would like to extend our deepest condolences on the passing of your beloved mother, Patricia Anne Brown,” Pantin said.

“Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers as you navigate through this difficult journey of grief,” he said.

The Apostolic Nunciature in Manila, in a letter to the CBCP, said that Archbishop Brown’s mother had died early this week.

It also informed the bishops that the nunciature’s first secretary, Msgr. Alessio Deriu, will act as Chargé d’Affaires, ad interim, while the nuncio is out of the country to be with his family in the US.
