Photos: Filipinos celebrate Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday is the day Christians remember and honor Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem a week before his crucifixion

In the town of Bulakan in the province of Bulacan, in the outskirts of the Philippine capital, residents would wake up early and head to church early in the morning on Palm Sunday.

This year, on April 2, 2023, the townsfolk joined a procession of an image of Jesus on a donkey, representing his entry to Jerusalem. They waved palm fronds as they enter the Nuestra Señora Dela Asuncion Church.
