Papal nuncio to Philippines joins European envoys in greeting president-elect Marcos

Ambassador Charles Brown, papal nuncio to the Philippines, joined ambassadors from other European countries who paid their courtesies to president-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on June 10.

With Archbishop Brown were UN representative to the Philippines Ambassador Gustavo Gonzales, Sweden’s Ambassador Annika Thunborg, and Irish Ambassador William Carlos.

In his statement to the media, Gonzalez said ensuring “high-level” of accountability in the aspect of human rights was discussed during the meeting with Marcos.

Thunborg said the campaign against illegal drugs was discussed during her meeting with the president-elect.

Archbishop Brown did not issue any statement.
