Franciscan priest Dexter Toledo, former co-executive secretary of the Association of Major Religious Superiors in the Philippines, died on Monday, February 8. He was 37.
The priest was found unconscious in his bedroom at about 11:00 a.m. and was immediately brought to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
His congregation has yet to officially announce the cause of death but his colleague, Father Angel Cortez, said the priest had histories of “seizures.”
“He used to experience seizures when he is stressed or overexcited,” said Father Cortez.
Father Toledo served as AMRSP co-executive secretary from 2014 to 2018.
At the time of his death, he was secretary general of the Order of Friars Minor – Philippine Province of San Pedro Bautista and director of the Franciscan Communications Office.
Father Toledo was one of the hosts of “Barangay Simbayanan” over Radio Veritas 846.
