Obispo ng Balanga ayaw sa ‘online wedding’

Hindi sang-ayon ang Diyosesis ng Balanga sa probinsya ng Bataan sa mungkahi na “online” o “virtual wedding.”

Ayon kay Balanga Bishop Ruperto Santos, ito ay isang mahalagang Sakramento ng Simbahan na nagtataglay ng tatlong panuntunan: pagsang-ayon, komunyon, at kasunduan.

“Church wedding is a covenant between the couple themselves, and they as a couple with God as godparents being the witness, and the priest a minister,” ayon sa obispo.




“Thus, it is a community celebration,” aniya. Ito ay kusang loob na ibinibigay nang walang pananakot at pamimilit, dagdag ng obispo.

Paliwanag ni Bishop Santos na sa “online wedding” hindi makakatiyak ang pari na ang pag-iisang dibdib ng magkasintahan ay bunga ng kanilang malayang pagpapasya.

“With online wedding how can we, priests, be sure and certain that the couple is not impeded in their free decision to get married,” ayon pa sa obispo.

Ang reaksyon ng obispo ay kaugnay na rin sa mungkahi ng ilan para sa “online wedding” dulot na rin sa patuloy na banta ng pandemya dahil sa coronavirus. – Radio Veritas 846
