Priest in Lucena diocese warns against fraudulent donation drive

Father Joseph Faller of the Diocese of Lucena has warned against a circulating text message that is asking for donations under his name.

“That is a huge scam and the text message is a hoax,” said the priest.

Father Faller urged the public not to entertain any messages from unverified sources. He also stressed that he is not soliciting money for any reason.

The priest said what he does is pray for the sick and to ask God for healing.

Philippine church leaders have earlier warned against unauthorized and fraudulent donation drives that use the name of the church and church persons.
