Photos: Palm Sunday in the Philippines

Catholics in the Philippines mark Palm Sunday, which commemorates Jesus Christ’s entry into Jerusalem and opens the observance of Holy Week, the most solemn period in the Christian calendar.

In the photos, devotees attend Mass and have palm fronds blessed at the St. Peter Parish Shrine of Leaders in Quezon City on March 29, 2026, as the faithful begin a week of liturgical rites recalling the passion, death, and resurrection of Christ.

Palm Sunday recalls Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, where crowds welcomed him with palm branches, marking the start of Holy Week in the Christian tradition.
