The Philippine Postal Corp. (PHLPost) has released a special commemorative stamp honoring Pope Leo XIV, who was elected leader of the Catholic Church nearly three months ago.
The stamp features a portrait of the pope alongside symbols of his papacy — intricate details expected to appeal to both casual enthusiasts and serious collectors.
PHLPost printed 10,000 copies of the stamp, each priced at ₱17. A matching First Day Cover is also available for collectors.
Both items can be purchased at the Postshop, located at the Manila Central Post Office Compound, Annex I Building, Liwasang Bonifacio.
“Through this commemorative release, PHLPost reaffirms its mission to preserve history, culture, and faith through philately, the art of stamp collecting,” the agency said.
Papal-themed stamps, according to PHLPost, remain among the most sought-after in the world, especially those tied to major Church events.
“Many collectors treasure these stamps for the personal connection they evoke with the Holy Father,” it said.
PHLPost previously issued several stamps in honor of the late Pope Francis, including a commemorative stamp in 2015 during his historic visit to the Philippines.
