Claretian priest Elias Ayuban Jr. was ordained as the second bishop of the Diocese of Cubao on Dec. 3 in a solemn ceremony held at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Quezon City, Metro Manila.

Bishop Ayuban succeeds Bishop Honesto Ongtioco, who served the diocese with dedication for 21 years. Pope Francis accepted Bishop Ongtioco’s resignation in October upon his reaching the mandatory retirement age of 75.
