Philippines’ provincial superior of Passionist Fathers dies at 55

The priest’s wake will be held at the Holy Cross Spiritual Center in Calumpang, General Santos City, until Nov. 13

Father Louie Fuentespina, the provincial superior of the Passionist Fathers in the Philippines, died on November 8. He was 55.

The priest’s congregation did not announce the cause of his death but said it is taking his demise with “deep sadness.”

“Thank you Fr. Louie for your faithful ministry as a servant and priest of God in the Congregation of the Passion of Jesus Christ. Rest in God, Father Louie,” read the congregation’s social media post.

Father Fuentespina took his perpetual vows as member of the Passionist Fathers in 1994. He was ordained priest four years later.

The priest’s wake will be held at the Holy Cross Spiritual Center in Calumpang, General Santos City, until Nov. 13.

He will be laid to rest at the Passionist Cemetery after a funeral Mass at the Holy Cross Parish Church at 3 p.m. on Nov. 14.
