Bayombong bishop’s health condition stable after heart procedure

“Please continue to pray for him for his speedy recovery as he is still in critical but stable condition,” the diocese said

Bishop Jose Elmer Mangalinao of Bayombing underwent a “successful” coronary angioplasty procedure on Tuesday, September 6, after a recent heart attack, the Diocese of Bayombong said.

The 62-year-old bishop is in stable condition at a hospital in the US city of Los Angeles and is under observation.

“Please continue to pray for him for his speedy recovery as he is still in critical but stable condition,” the diocese said.

“Please note that we cannot accept visitors as of this time as the Bishop heals. We need him to rest and recover so he can heal fast and be able to be with us all again,” it added.

Bishop Mangalinao arrived in California last week for a mission appeal.

He has been hospitalized since Aug. 31 “due to difficulty in breathing.”

“We appreciate all the well-wishers so much for showing love and prayers for our dear bishop,” the diocese also said.
