The Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Quezon City delivers food to poor families, especially those living in the streets, during the lockdown

The Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Quezon City delivers food to poor families, especially those living in the streets, as part of its apostolate to care for those most affected by the pandemic.

Dubbed “Meals on Wheels,” the initiative is a continuation of the parish’s “community pantry” project that provides aid, including food and basic necessities, to affected families from parish donations.

The parish, which is led by Claretian missionary priest Eduardo Apungan, decided to launch the “Meals on Wheels” after authorities imposed a “lockdown” to contain the spread of the virus and prevented people from leaving their homes. (Photos by Jire Carreon for LiCAS.news)
