Diocese of Borongan opens new dialysis center

The new dialysis center is the result of coordination between the Borongan and Maasin dioceses

The Diocese of Borongan has opened the St. Francis of Assisi Dialysis Center on February 6 to provide people in areas far from the city center the procedure.

The new dialysis center, which is the result of the coordination between the Borongan and Maasin dioceses, is located in Barangay Balud, OIKOS village, in Borongan.

The first patient of the facility is Father John Alcantara, a diocesan priest, who in the past needed to travel to the city of Tacloban for eight hours to undergo the procedure.

The center has already 42 patients listed for sessions in the coming days. Each session will costs Php3,450 while a dialyzer cost Php1,500 and is already good for up to seven sessions.
