Manila priest named new assistant secretary general of bishops’ conference

In its social media account, the San Fernando de Dilao Parish announced that its parochial vicar, Father Carlo del Rosario, has been appointed to the post

A priest from the Archdiocese of Manila has been named the new assistant secretary general of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines.

In its social media account, the San Fernando de Dilao Parish announced that its parochial vicar, Father Carlo del Rosario, has been appointed to the post.

“Prayerful greetings and best wishes! Fr. Carlo P. Del Rosario on his appointment as Assistant Secretary General of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines,” read the post.

The news came after the bishops’ conference announced the appointment of Monsignor Bernard Pantin as the new secretary general of the body.

Prior to his appointment, Monsignor Pantin was the conference’s assistant secretary general.

Monsignor Pantin replaced Father Marvin Mejia of the Cebu archdiocese, who served the post since 2013 and whose term ended on October 31.
