Opisyal ng CBCP, nanawagan ng ‘transparency’ sa pamahalaan

Pinapaalala ng isang opisyal ng Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) ang kahalagahan ng “transparency” sa mga proyekton ng pamahalaan.

“Transparency is one of the pillars of good governance,” ayon kay Father Jerome Secillano, executive secretary ng CBCP Committee on Public Affairs.

“It promotes accountability, efficiency and effectiveness among government officials,” dagdag ng pari.



Aniya, higit din nitong binibigyan ng maayos na pananagutan ang mga opisyal upang ipakita sa mamamayan na nagbubunga ang kanilang pagbabayad ng buwis.

Ito ang hamon ng Pari matapos punahin ng Commission on Audit ang pagkaantala simula pa noong 2021 ng 14 proyekto ng Department of Transportation na nagkakahalaga ng higit sa isang trilyong piso.

“It assures the public that funds are used for their intended purposes and not pocketed by unscrupulous leaders,” ani Father Secillano.

“With transparency, both the government and it officials are deemed above suspicion because of their openness for scrutiny and willingness to assume accountability,” ayon sa pari sa panayam ng Radio Veritas 846.
