Faithful reminded to continue caring for environment as Church observes Laudato si’ Week

Laudato si’ Week, which takes place from the May 22 to 29, celebrates the seventh anniversary of Pope Francis' encyclical on the care of creation

Filipino Catholic faithful are reminded to continue caring for the environment as the Church observes Laudato si’ Week starting Sunday, May 22.

Laudato si’ Week, which takes place from the May 22 to 29, celebrates the seventh anniversary of Pope Francis’ encyclical on the care of creation, and focuses on the seven objectives pursued in the Laudato si’ Action Platform.

Catholics around the world are supposed to celebrate the progress made in bringing the pope’s encyclical Laudato si’ to life and intensify efforts through the Laudato si’ Action Platform, which is promoted by the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development.

The weeklong event will feature a series of global celebrations and dynamic conversations.

Father Cortez, a member of the International Steering Committee of the Laudato si’ Action Platform, said everyone has a role to play to ensure the care for the common home.

At nasa huli ang pagsisisi,” the priest said.
