The Diocese of Kalookan said its ongoing COVID-19 vaccination drive is open to all denominations and other religions.
Father Rene Richard Bernardo, head of the diocese’s health care ministry, said people, Catholics or not, should not hesitate in availing of the vaccination program.
“The public has to understand that this program is not just for Catholics, but also for other religious sects and denominations,” Bernardo said over Radio Veritas 846 on Monday.
“We want to help everybody through this massive vaccination program in our diocese,” he said.
Father Bernardo also pointed out that the program may even be availed of by those outside the Kalookan diocese.
Those in neighboring dioceses, according to him, may also go to their designated vaccination sites to get vaccinated.
“We are serving not just those from Caloocan, Malabon, and Navotas, but also those in the nearby cities and provinces,” the priest said.
“We have had vaccinees from Bulacan, Pampanga, and Cavite. We are ready to help them through this vaccination program,” he added.
Around 100,000 individuals have so far been vaccinated in designated churches in the diocese.
They include the San Roque Cathedral, Saint Gabriel the Archangel Parish, Shrine of Our Lady of Grace Parish, San Ezekiel Moreno Parish, and Notre Dame of Greater Manila in Caloocan City; Saints Peter and John Parish, San Antonio de Padua Parish, Immaculate Concepcion Parish, Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, and San Bartolome Parish in Malabon City; and San Jose Parish in Navotas City.
