Manila parishes to recite thanksgiving prayer for new archbishop

Manila will have a nine-day spiritual preparation from June 15 to 23 in anticipation of the installation of Cardinal Advincula

Starting Tuesday, June 15, Catholic parishes in the Archdiocese of Manila will recite a “Prayer of Thanksgiving” for the gift of a new archbishop.

A copy of the prayer has been posted on the archdiocese’s Facebook page on Sunday, June 13.

Earlier, the archdiocese released the official coat of arms of Cardinal Jose F. Advincula, the incoming archbishop of Manila.

The cardinal will be formally installed at the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros on June 24.

Below is the prayer that will be recited in parishes starting this week:

Amen.”

Last week, Bishop Broderick Pabillo, apostolic administrator of Manila, called for a nine-day spiritual preparation from June 15 to 23 in anticipation of the installation of Cardinal Advincula.
