‘Faith’ still among top keywords in Philippines’ social media posts

Keywords related to the Holy Week observance have been on top of all keyword categories during the month of April

“Faith” remained among the top trending keywords in the Philippines on social media, especially on Facebook, for the month of April.

Private campaigns consultancy and management firm Blueprint.PH noted that results for the month of April showed that Filipinos value celebrating Holy Week.

The company said keywords related to the religious observance have been on top of all keyword categories with those related to COVID-19 and the “community pantries” that sprouted across the country during the month.

The top keywords were based on engagement scores and on the interactions of comments, reactions, and shares.

Consistently on Number 1, with a total engagement score of 72,326,811 is the category “Faith,” said Blueprint.PH, while the keywords “GoodFriday,” “Holy Week,” and “BiyernesSanto” were among the top keywords among the 1,500 rankings.

Other top trending keywords under the category are: “Quiapo Church,” “500YearsofChristianity” and “MinorBasilixaoftheBlackNazarene.”

Filipinos, majority of whom are Catholics, observed the Holy Week from March 29 to April 4.

Bishop Marcelino Antonio Maralit Jr. of Boac, chairman of the social communications ministry of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines, welcomed the news.

“That is great news, and at the same time a sign that maybe many people because of these desperate times are either going back to their faith for strength, inspiration and/or answers,” said the prelate in an interview over Radio Veritas 846.

“There are a lot of people once again realizing how important God is,” said Bishop Maralit.

“Moments like these, like a pandemic, are moments that usually wake us up and make us realize many things about life,” he said, adding that for many “our faith in Jesus is a true refuge.”
