An official of the Episcopal Commission on the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People called of the Filipino faithful to include in their prayers India, which is experiencing a surge in COVID-19 cases.
“Let us always remember and include India in our prayers and Holy Masses that with the rest of world, this COVID-19 pandemic will end and healing will come to all of us,” said Bishop Ruperto Santos of Balanga.
“As one humanity, all of us must work as one to bring hope and help to all, and all of us must beg our almighty God to lead us to safety, sound health and success in combatting this coronavirus,” he added.
He also told Filipinos to realize that what is happening in India can happen anywhere if people with not take seriously health protocols.
“Let us be more serious and be stricter to implement and follow the protocols,” said Bishop Santos.
“Let us do what is most necessary to prevent the spread of virus, to protect and help one another from this COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.
India reported on Thursday a record rise in coronavirus cases and deaths over the last 24 hours, with its overall caseload rising above 18 million.
With 379,257 new cases and 3,645 new deaths, India’s total number of cases and deaths are now at 18.38 million and 204,832, respectively, according to the country’s health ministry.
