Muslim religious leaders in the Philippines have issued a guide on how to celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan at home.
The Regional Darul-Ifta of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao announced that there will be no congregational prayers in this year’s Eid’l Fitr.
Abuhuraira Udasan, mufti of Bangsamoro region, said prayers to mark the end of Ramadan will be performed by Muslims across the country inside their houses on May 24.
The Bangsamoro government has published on its official social media pages a guide on the proper method of reciting the Eid prayers.
The guide also provided worshippers phrases and readings that they have to recite.
Police Major General Debold Sinas, head of the National Capital Region Police Office, reminded the Muslim community that “mass gatherings” are still prohibited due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The police general said he will deploy security personnel around mosques in the capital to ensure that no congregational prayer will take place.
